Breaking New Ground in Menlo Park
This HO4, installed in Menlo Park in 2018, marks a milestone as the first permitted Honomobo in California. Built for Soup.is, an organization dedicated to impactful design initiatives, this ADU goes beyond function, serving as an innovative and cost effective housing solution in the Bay Area’s competitive real estate market. Nestled in a mature backyard, it blends into the neighborhood and adds much needed density.
This HO4 showcases the complementary nature of Honomobo's modern design with California’s natural beauty. The clean, sharp lines of the home are framed by towering trees, creating a serene space that fits well in its environment. Inside, the unit provides much-needed housing space with all the comfort, efficiency, and style that Honomobo is known for, helping to address a critical need in the region.
The Menlo Park HO4 demonstrates how Honomobo homes can combine elegance and impact. As a cutting-edge ADU in a starved housing market, this project reflects a perfect balance of thoughtful design, purpose-driven innovation, and community fit.
