The Honomobo process ensures predictability and control, delivering every project with consistency and care. From the first consultation to the final walkthrough, our streamlined approach makes building your Honomobo a seamless and rewarding experience.
An on-site review of your property is conducted to evaluate access and explore placement options for your Honomobo. Our team will check site services locations & crane access to ensure a factory build project is feasibly on your site. This phase includes an initial zoning review and provides a detailed budget estimate, offering a clear understanding of what’s possible and what comes next.
A comprehensive Design Brief establishes project goals, including Honomobo placement, orientation, foundation type, styling, and budget. A detailed 3D conceptual model is developed, incorporating site planning, structural considerations, and architectural details. Zoning requirements are verified as part of this process. Feedback is integrated to refine the design and advance to the next stage.
A dedicated project manager is assigned during this phase to coordinate efforts among the design team, engineers, third parties, and the local general contractor, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
Step 1: A submittal-ready package of modular drawings is prepared, including an engineering review and local energy calculations. This phase includes the first set of site-specific architectural drawings, which serve as the foundation for the permitting package. These drawings are shared with the local General Contractor to begin pricing discussions and establish project specifics for on site work.
Step 2: A comprehensive Permit Submission Package is developed, incorporating detailed engineering and architectural plans for the entire project. Modular drawings are certified to meet the specific requirements for your US State regulations or for Canadian CSA. Third-party drawings are reviewed to ensure consistency and alignment with the overall project design and zoning needs.
With the approved building permit and Manufacturing Deposit, production begins in our factory. Over a 12-16 week timeframe, the factory-built unit progresses through three stages, each tied to a payment milestone. Precision and quality checks are integrated into every step, ensuring your Honomobo meets the highest standards.
As manufacturing takes place, your local general contractor prepares the site. Utilities are installed, and the foundation is prepared to specification. A site visit by Honomobo ensures the foundation and site are ready for seamless delivery and assembly.
A detailed logistics and on-site assembly plan ensures every aspect of delivery is seamless. A finalized budget for trucking, craning, and on-site assembly is provided 30 days before your home ships to its destination.
Our Assembly Team coordinates with a local crane operator to place your home on its foundation, completing interior and exterior connections within 1–3 weeks. Licensed local contractors handle foundation welding and utility hookups, ensuring compliance with regional requirements.
A final walkthrough with your project manager provides a comprehensive review, along with a Homeowner’s Information Package detailing everything completed. Any remaining on-site construction that may be required after installation will happen at this stage, such as adding stairs, decks, railings, or other on-site add-ons.
